Needless to say, this Mother’s Day will be unlike any other Mother’s Day in history. In some cases, Mom’s are stepping up, even more than ever, to bring peace and harmony into our homes. As well as work, teach, feed, love and provide a general sense of calm. If you’re lucky enough to be with Mom right now, you know exactly what needs to be done. But first, we thought we’d talk a little bit about the Mom’s that mean so much to Saban Glass. Of course, we’re talking about Cheryl Saban and her Mom, Betty. Cheryl is the proud mother of 4 kids (7 grandchildren). Her Mom, Betty, who is no longer with us, lives on in every single piece of hand blown glass Cheryl creates. Betty was truly one-of-kind, and she even has her own styles of glassware named after her: The Betty Vase and The Betty Table Lamp.

Betty was a bit of a collector, Cheryl recalls. “Some might say she went over the top.” Her main collection was, of all things, thimbles. Wherever she went, she’d find a souvenir shop and purchase a thimble, or two, or three. In fact, she even joined a thimble club. Betty was truly unique. Not to mention, a true creative inspiration for her daughter, our #hotshopmama, Cheryl Saban.
